Remove Photo Location Data
See what's hidden in a photo, then download a copy with it all stripped out.
What's actually inside a photo
Beyond the image itself, a smartphone photo typically carries GPS coordinates, the exact capture time, the camera model, and editing software names in its EXIF block. This tool shows you that content first — with a map link if coordinates are present — and then produces a metadata-free copy by re-rendering the image, so nothing extra survives.

Frequently asked questions
Why do my photos contain my location?
Smartphone cameras embed GPS coordinates, capture time, and the device model into every photo as EXIF metadata when location services are on. A photo taken at home can carry your home's coordinates.
Is it risky to post photos on marketplaces or social media?
Major platforms usually strip metadata on upload, but not all do — and sending the original file directly (email, messaging apps in file mode) passes it along intact. Removing it yourself before sharing is the only certain way.
Does removal reduce image quality?
The image is re-saved at 95% quality, which is visually indistinguishable for photos. PNG files are processed losslessly. Your original file is untouched; you download a clean copy.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Reading the metadata and producing the clean copy both happen inside your browser. Nothing is transmitted over the network.
